The Okoboji boys and girls cross country competed with ten other schools in their annual invite at Woodlyn Hills Golf Course on Thursday. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock won the boys team title, while Okoboji finished fifth. Individually, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s Ben Berberich won with a time of 18:05. In third was Joe Hilsabeck from Okoboji, with teammates Chris Albright and Taylor Cody finishing in the top-20. In the girls competition, Okoboji took third behind Sioux Center and Sioux Central. Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Leah Sievert won the race with a time of 15:50, followed by the Pioneers’ Clare Eckard. Brenna Sweeney of HMS was ninth and Okoboji’s Elizabeth Ellrich placed 18th.
