Worthington Man Arrested On Multiple Charges By Spirit Lake Police

May 15, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– A Worthington, Minnesota man has been arrested by Spirit Lake police on multiple charges including burglary, prostitution, false imprisonment, domestic abuse assault and criminal mischief in the 5th degree. 38-year-old Marcus Tavon Brown was taken into custody Wednesday following an investigation into an incident in March of this year at a Spirit Lake apartment complex. He’s being held in the Dickinson county jail.

Criminal complaints filed by Spirit Lake police accuse Brown of using a cash app in an effort to gain sexual favors from a female who was not willing to fulfill them. Brown is also accused in the complaints of gaining access to the victim’s apartment using a key that was duplicated without the knowledge of the building’s owner. Once inside, police say a domestic disturbance occurred and that Brown refused to leave. The complaint alleges that Brown also stood between the victim and the door, preventing her from leaving, and that he damaged the door.
