(Wallingford)– Fire departments from Wallingford and Estherville battled a pasture fire Saturday afternoon in Wallingford.
Wallingford Fire Chief Jared Fischer says they were called to 220 South 3rd Street. He says they quickly called for assistance from the Estherville Fire Department after learning the fire was spreading quickly toward some vehicles, a barn and a house. Fischer says they were able to contain the fire to the pasture land.
Fischer says it appears the fire was sparked by some embers from a neighbor’s burn pile that got into the dry grass.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene about 40 minutes.
