(Graettinger)– Upper Des Moines Opportunity has a new Executive Director.
UDMO Board President Doug Bailey announced today (Wed.) Jamey Whitney has been hired to the position following a three month search and selection process.
Whitney, an Iowa native who currently lives in Girard, Kansas, will begin his new job with UDMO January 23rd.
Whitney has an MSW degree and is currently serving as adjunct professor of Social Policy Analysis at Pittsburg State University in Kansas and is also the assistant director of development at Neosho County Community College.
In addition to having been an assistant Head Start program director and a director of an Early Head Start program, Whitney served nine years as a national consultant to federal agencies to review and assess local Head Start programs. UDMO operates Head Start in 8 of its 12 county service area in northwest and north central Iowa.
Upper Des Moines Opportunity is based in Graettinger. It’s been in existence for 46 years.
