(Estherville)– Two southern Minnesota men were arrested Wednesday on burglary charges following an incident at a farm site near Ringsted.
Emmet County Sheriff Justin Schultes says deputies were called around 3:40 pm after getting a report of a burglary in progress at 2545 490th Avenue. The landowner reported seeing two men on his property wearing masks over their faces. When the suspects saw the property owner, they took off on foot, going further into the property. Authorities established a perimeter around the location and additional resources were called to the scene. Schultes says multiple attempts to communicate with the suspects failed. Several drones were deployed over the area to try to locate the two men. The Multi-Agency Response Team, or MART, was deployed. A k-9 team located the two suspects hiding in a large pile of appliances.
Schultes says at about 7:48 pm, both suspects were taken into custody. They’re identified as Jory Embacher and Brenson Juni, both of New Ulm, Minnesota. They were booked into the Emmet County Jail on charges of burglary in the 3rd degree, a class “D” felony, and possession of burglar tools, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Schultes says the case remains under investigation and that additional charges are likely.
