(Spencer)– Three juveniles were cited over the weekend on drug and alcohol charges. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it stems from a traffic stop Saturday in the 2500 mile of Highway 18. A deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding and smelled marijuana as he approached it. A search turned up marijuana, nicotine and alcohol. The 17-year-old driver from Emmetsburg was cited into Magistrate Court for speeding and minor in possession of tobacco. He was cited into Juvenile Court on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.
A 17-year-old from Mallard was cited into Magistrate Court for minor in possession of tobacco and was cited into Juvenile Court for minor in possession of alcohol. A 16-year-old from Emmetsburg was cited into Magistrate Court for minor in possession of tobacco and was was cited into Juvenile Court for possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.
All three were released to the custody of a parent or adult family member.
