(Lakefield, Mn.)– There were some tense moments today (Friday) when a student fired a cap gun at the Jackson County Central Middle School. Cap guns do not fire projectiles but do make loud popping sounds when discharged.
In a statement to parents, Superintendent Barry Schmidt says the student responsible will face disciplinary action, adding it was a serious violation of school district policy. Schmidt says law enforcement was notified of the incident.
Schmidt says today’s (Friday’s) incident NOT related to a school safety threat earlier this week that we reported on previously.
