(Spencer)– The Clay County Fair is getting some international recognition after a strong showing in competition at the 121st Annual International Association of Fairs and Expositions last week in Las Vegas. The event allows member fairs to enter competitions based on competitive exhibits, agricultural education and communications. The entries are evaluated and judged by teams of industry leaders.

In addition to its 1st place finish in the General Display Photo category which featured a photo of the fairss antique tractor display, the Clay County Fair was second in the “Overall Agricultural Program for Non-Ag Fairgoing Public”, finishing behind the Georgia National Fair.
The Clay County Fair placed second in the “Agricultural Photo Series” category for a series of photos by Fair Photographer Judy Hemphill featuring a youth exhibitor showing baby doll sheep. It finished behind an entry from the Greater Jacksonville, Florida Agricultural Fair.
And the Clay County Fair finished 3rd in the “Fair/Sponsor Exhibit Program” for it’s entry of the milking cow sponsored by MaxYield in Grandpa’s Barn. It finished behind entries from the Nebraska State Fair and the Kansas State Fair.
