(Storm Lake)– A Spirit Lake man was arrested after Storm Lake police investigated a burglary and assault at a Storm Lake residence Sunday morning.
Police were called to 312 Hudson Street in Storm Lake where they found evidence of a forced entry. Police were told two black males forced their way in and armed with baseball bats and beer bottles, assaulted the occupants. Two people in the house were bleeding from wounds to their face or head. One was taken by paramedics to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake for treatment.
A large number of people in the house were taken to the police station for questioning. Police allege the statements contradicted each other and that there was no forced entry to the house. Police allege some sort of disturbance occured involving the occupants of the house.
34-year-old Cedar Zeledon-Ramirez of Spirit Lake was charged with false report to police and fifth degree criminal mischief. Zeledon-Ramirez was being held in the Buena Vista county jail on a $1,600 cash bond.
