Stolen Moped Leads To Arrest Of Spencer Woman

(Spencer)– A moped stolen last month from a rural Spencer residence has resulted in the arrest of a Spencer woman on trespassing and theft charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the moped was reported stolen back on August 10th of this year from 1906 350th Street of rural Spencer. The Hartley Police Department recovered the stolen moped the following day at a convenience store.

Upon further investigation, officers issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the case, identified as 45-year-old Marilyn Kirk of Spencer.

A deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kirk on Tuesday of this week. She was booked into jail on charges of trespassing and 2nd degree vehicle theft.

Bond was set at $5,000.
