(Spirit Lake)– A rubbish fire Tuesday in Spirit Lake got out of control and was reportedly threatening some structures.
A press release from the Spirit Lake Fire Department says firefighters responded shortly after 1:30 pm to 912 20th Street. They were able to keep it from spreading and quickly doused the fire. Firefighters were on the scene a little more than a half hour.
Spirit Lake residents are reminded that city ordinance prohibits open burning within city limits with only specific exceptions allowed.
