(Spencer)– For the second time in less than a week, the Spencer Fire Department was called Thursday evening to put out a fire in a dumpster next to a building.
Firefighters were called a little after 7:00 pm to 829 South Grand Avenue and found the dumpster, intended for cardboard recycling, on fire. They prevented the fire from reaching the building and quickly put it out.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene about a half hour.
Chief Jesse Coulson says caution should be used when disposing items and that only certain items are allowed in recycling bins.
