(Des Moines)– Six people are accused of voting in Iowa without full U.S. citizenship.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate’s office claims 277 people either voted or registered to vote illegally in the 2024 general elections. It led to the state Attorney General’s Office bringing charges against six individuals on the list. The suspects live in five counties including Palo Alto, Sioux, Johnson, Marshall and Hancock.
Election misconduct in Iowa is a first-degree felony with a maximum sentence of five years in jail.
