(Spirit Lake)– A collision Saturday evening at the intersection of Highways 9 & 71 and Keokuk Avenue in Spirit Lake involving a motorcycle and S-U-V sent one person to the hospital.
Police say 42-year-old Joshua Gray of Buffalo Center was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse westbound on the highway and 20-year-old Trinity West of Milford was driving a 1986 Honda motorcycle eastbound. An accident report states that Gray was turning left onto Keokuk Avenue when the two collided. The impact caused West to be ejected off the motorcycle and over the handlebars. West was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with serious injuries.
Gray was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
The collision took place shortly before 6:30 pm.
