(Emmetsburg)– Authorities in Palo Alto county say a recent fire in some bales in the stackyard at the Poet Biorefining facility in Emmetsburg is being investigated as an arson. The company is offering a $10,000 cash reward for any information that leads to the arrest of whoever’s responsible.
Poet officials say the incident took place the night of May 12th and resulted in the loss of about $5 million in corn stover. No injuries were reported and the facility was able to remain in operation.
