(Spirt Lake)– The Dickinson County Nature Center is holding an event called Family Nature Night: Signs of Spring on Friday March 28th from 5 to 6pm. Community Relations Coordinator with Dickinson County Conservation Board Amy Heibult talks about what families can expect…
“They’re going to be doing kind of a group activity looking for signs for spring. As things green up and we see birds moving through there’s going to be an opportunity to partake in a group game matching birds with the eggs that they lay. There’s going to be a guided tour hiking outside with naturalist Brittany to kind of see some of those observations if our trees are budding out, looking for signs of birds and wildlife that are out and about and listening for things. We might be hearing some frogs this time of year potentially if it’s getting warm enough. There are a lot of things that are starting to wake up for the season.”
Heibult says its fun to watch people learn about nature…
“Its always fun seeing people’s faces light up when they learn something new or they make a connection and they’re just like oh my gosh I had no idea and being able to see that out here in nature its really special, especially when its together with a family.”
