(Pocahontas)– The Prairie Lakes Area Educational Agency has a new Chief Administrator.
Officials announced late Thursday the hiring of Jeff Herzberg to the position. He succeeds Dr. Kay Forsythe who held the position previously since 2003.
Herzberg is currently Superintendent at the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District. He has previously held positions as High School Principal at Iowa Falls-Alden High School, Junior/Senior high Principal at Anita Community Schools and Associate High School Principal at Webster City Community Schools. He is in the process of completing his doctorate from Iowa State University.
Herzberg says he’s very excited about the new opportunity, saying it’s a role that must be taken seriously to serve the needs of all students.
Prairie Lakes AEA provides special education, school improvement, media and technology support services to nearly four thousand educators in 45 public school districts and 11 accredited, non-public schools. The agency employs over 250 staff members throughout a 14-county area of northwest Iowa.
