(Pocahontas)– A Pocahontas County nurse is going to prison for the death of a nursing home patient. Becky Sue Manning was charged with wanton neglect of a health care facility resident after 87-year-old Marvin Jacobs died of asphyxiation in February 2023. Jacobs repeatedly signaled for Manning to suction fluids out of his tracheostomy tube to clear his airway, but investigators say Manning refused.
The 70-year-old woman was sentenced to two years in prison this week.
