(Boyden)– A Sheldon man was injured Tuesday when he was struck by a pickup while walking in a street in Boyden.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Joel Horn of Boyden was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup when he collided with a pedestrian identified as 55-year-old Juan Salas of Sheldon. Authorities say Horn tried to stop but was unable to do so fast enough.
Salas was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries or condition.
The incident took place shortly after 6:30 a.m.
