The Pearson Lakes Art Center kicked off their season with the Dick Bauman Big Band on Memorial Day and Bob Kirschbaum the Executive Director of the PLAC says they are looking forward to another great season…
“Marilyn Maye is back, 96 years young and she just gave me a call the other night and we were talking and she is really excited about her show. Of course Hotel California is a big hit, they sell out two nights every summer. If people haven’t heard the Texas Tenors before they’re here two nights. They are just outstanding and then a little different genre this summer we have a Taylor Swift tribute where I mean you’d swear it was Taylor Swift up there. This young lady looks just like Taylor Swift and sounds like her so we’re hoping that the young people will come out and really get excited about that.”
Kirschbaum says they have a lot of great artists for the Visual Arts this summer…
“Every time we have an opening we have, from 5 to 7 the opening, we have food and wine, free, and the artist usually gives a talk around 6 o’clock so it’s a good night out.”
The Pearson Lakes Art Center also offers education and Culinary classes. You can purchase tickets for upcoming shows and find out more information on all the things that are offered by going to lakesart.org. Tune in to KUOO every Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 for the Pearson Lakes Art Center Spotlight.
