(Spencer)– The parent company of a firm that manufactures animal health products at a facility in Spencer has announced it will be shutting down production at that location at the end of the month.
Officials with DVM and Animal Health International, which also does business as Walco International, made the announcement today (Friday).
On March 14th of last year, Animal Health Incorporated announced it had entered into a merger agreement. The transaction closed on June 30th of last year and the new combined company operates under the umbrella of Animal Health Incorporated. Some of the Spencer employees have been offered positions with the company’s operations in Sioux Center and Manchester, Iowa. Severance packages and outplacement services are also being made available to those affected.
