(Milford)– No injuries were reported in a weekend house fire west of Milford.
Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter says firefighters were called shortly before 1:00 a.m. Sunday to 2289 195th Avenue near the Little Sioux River. Upon arriving Carpenter says flames could be seen coming through the roof. He says the occupants managed to get out unharmed.
Firefighters entered through a front door. Carpenter says the living room and hallway were heavily damaged. The rest of the home sustained heavy smoke, heat and water damage.
Firefighters were on the scene until about 4:00 a.m.
Carpenter says the cause is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
