(Milford)– A Spirit Lake man has been recognized for his many years of service with the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District. The district’s board of trustees adopted a resolution at this week’s meeting dedicating the flagpole at the Milford facility in honor of Bob Boettcher. Sanitary District Superintendent Steve Anderson says Boettcher’s service to the district goes all the way back to shortly after the entity was established…
Anderson says Boettcher also most recently served on the Sanitary District’s Board of Trustees…
The honor was bestowed upon Boettcher during Tuesday’s trustees meeting, the same day as Bob’s 100th birthday.
In addition to his work with the Sanitary District, Bob also is a World War II veteran and served previously on city councils in Orleans and Spirit Lake, and is a former Mayor of Spirit Lake.
