(Sioux Falls, S.D.)– The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says we shouldn’t be surprised if we see funnel clouds develop in the area today (Wednesday).
The weather service says conditions are such for what’s known as “cold air funnel clouds” to develop. Forecasters say they are the result of updrafts that can develop along subtle boundaries that are present today (Wed.) in the region. They say the funnels are usually weak and rarely touch down, but if you feel your safety is threatened you should seek shelter.
