(Estherville)– Send-offs were held today (Thurs.) at various armories around Iowa for some 1,800 soldiers being deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. One of those ceremonies was held this (Thurs.) afternoon at the National Guard Armory in Estherville.
Units being deployed include Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, Iowa Army National Guard.
It marks the largest mobilization of Iowans in more than a decade.
