Minor Injuries Reported In Hwy 86/71 Collision

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– A two-vehicle collision Wednesday at the intersection of highways 86 and 71 on the north edge of Milford sent one person to the hospital.

The Milford Police Department says Scott Steinkamp of Wall Lake was northbound on Highway 71 and had stopped for a stop light at the Highway 86 intersection. Authorities say another northbound vehicle, driven by Deb Paxton of Milford, collided with the rear of Steinkamp’s vehicle after the light turned green.

Steinkamp was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare complaining of neck pain. No injuries were reported to Paxton.

No damage was reported to either a 2002 Ford Focus driven by Steinkamp or to a 2000 Ford Explorer Steinkamp was driving.

Paxton was cited for following too closely; Steinkamp was cited for failure to maintain registration plates and no insurance.

The incident took place around 2:30 p.m.

The Milford Police Department was assisted by Milford Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
