(Sioux City)– A Milford man has pled guilty in U.S. District Court to a firearms charge. 34-year-old Jeffrey Krowiorz, II entered the plea today (Wed.) in Sioux City to prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Krowiorz admitted at his plea hearing that he unlawfully possessed a gun after having been convicted of at least one felony conviction and while using methamphetamine. He had previously been convicted of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in U.S. District Court in 2013. Krowiorz II had also been convicted in Emmet County District Court in 2007 of possessing lithium with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of anhydrous ammonia with intent to manufacture meth in Clay County District Court in 2007. Additional evidence showed he had a gun with an altered or obliterated serial number.
Sentencing is pending completion of a pre-sentence report. Krowiorz faces a possible maximum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, and not more than three years of supervised release following any imprisonment. He remains in the custody of a U.S. Marshal.
The case was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Spencer Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
