(Milford)– The Milford city council Monday held the second reading of a proposed ordinance requiring the first 15 feet of all new drives and customer parking areas be paved in order to limit the amount of sand and gravel going into the city’s storm sewers.
The council approved the resignation of police officer Gene Lansdown and authorized staff to advertise the vacancy.
They approved increasing pay for city staff to attend meetings after hours from $10 per meeting to $25.
And they voted to send a letter to the county expressing the city’s support of a project to resurface and widen 213th Avenue between County Road A-34 and Iowa Highway 86. The city’s share of the cost would be $22,200. The county and the city of West Okoboji, which also have jurisdiction over the road, would pick up the remainder. The project is tentatively scheduled for 2013.
