(Milford)– The Milford City Council Monday evening set a date for public hearings on some voluntary annexation requests, including one from the Okoboji Community Schools requesting the land on which the new elementary school is to be constructed be brought into the city of Milford.
The annexation requests sparked discussion over some adjoining properties that are not part of the city and so far at least, reportedly have been opposed to being annexed. Mayor Steve Anderson said he’s concerned over the islands that would be created as a result, saying many of those already exist in other areas of Milford.
