(Lester)– Multiple injuries were reported in three vehicle collision Thursday at the intersection of Highway 9 and Lyon County Road K30 near Lester.
The Iowa State Patrol says 36-year-old Andrea Solis of Houston, Texas, was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla and had stopped at a stop sign. Troopers say Solis then pulled into the path of a westbound 2007 Peterbilt semi pulling a propane tanker, driven by 46-year-old Joseph Moeller of Bryant, South Dakota. The vehicle driven by Solis then collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker driven by 26-year-old Joel Van Veldhuizen of Larchwood, who had stopped and was waiting to turn.
Solis and a passenger in his vehicle, 67-year-old Marga Valderrama De Barrios of Crofton, Nebraska were transported by helicopter to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls where they were reported to be in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.
The collision took place a little before 1:30 pm.
