LRH Observing National EMS Week

(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare is recognizing the vital role of emergency medical service providers this week.

According to a press release, Dickinson county has more than 70 volunteer first responders, 35 law enforcement officers, nine dispatchers, 15 DNR Conservation Lake Patrol officers, five fire departments, an underwater rescue team, along with the ambulance service and emergency department at LRH. County resources also include specialized equipment for water rescues, vehicle extrication as well as that for helping reach patients in remote areas, including thermal imaging equipment, drones and a specially equipped all terrain vehicle.

Anyone in Dickinson county interested in becoming a volunteer first responder should contact their local department of city hall, the Dickinson County EMS Association, or the Ambulance Department of Lakes Regional Healthcare. More information can also be found at lakeshealth.org/careers.
