(Lake Park)– There’s going to be a change in location this summer for the Farmer’s Market in Lake Park. Organizer April Junge tells KUOO news it’s being moved to a different location…
“In the past we have had our farmer’s market down in the park and this year we are going to bring it up to Market Street, make it a little more visible for the community and the people driving through town. Hopefully we can bring in some more vendors with that and just bring in a bigger market and see what goes on. We’re excited for it.”
Junge says the farmer’s market in Lake Park will be held every Tuesday through the summer, beginning this coming Tuesday, June 3rd, from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm…
“So far we have about eight vendors coming and at least one food truck, possibly two, so that’s really fun. We sent out a ton of applications and vendor forms, so really excited for this.”
Junge says they’re looking for additional vendors to join them…
“It’s a hundred dollars for the season. What that gets you is your parking spot and we’re going to be right on the street so you’ll park in a parking stall is where you’re set up at. Our customers will shop on the sidewalk on the west side of the street. So if you’re not familiar with that in Lake Park it’s going to be like in front of the city hall, in front Rise and Grind, in front of Water Tower Boutique, the clinic, right in that little stretch.”
Junge adds a number of businesses in downtown Lake Park will also have special things going on Tuesday evenings in conjunction with the farmer’s market…
“So some of them that will be open is Water Tower Boutique, Rise and Grind, Carstensen’s Meats and Grocery, Johnny’s Pub will have their Bike Night, Gunderson’s will have Taco Night, Lakeside Market will be open and then of course Hometown Florals as well. So we’re kind of bringing everything together and just hoping for something fun on Market Street.”
