(Worthington)– A single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Interstate 90 near Rushmore in Nobles county claimed one life and sent seven others to the hospital.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 34-year-old Aduru Asala of Sioux Falls lost control of an eastbound van that went into the ditch and rolled several times, ejecting three passengers.
One passenger, who’s name has been withheld pending notification of relatives, was killed in the crash.
Seven others…all from Sioux Falls…were injured. Three were transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital; four others were taken to Sanford Hospital in Worthington.
The 1997 Dodge van Asala was driving was totaled.
Troopers say the road was ice-covered at the time.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office.
