High Speed Pursuit Ends In Collision

June 08, 2025

(Jackson, Mn.)– A two vehicle collision a little after 7:00 pm Friday in Jackson sent one person to the hospital. It followed a pursuit that started in Spirit Lake about a half hour earlier.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Samuel Origer of Breckenridge, Colorado was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 38-year-old Matthew Bezdicek of Jackson was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra when the two collided at the intersection of Highway 71 and Bluff Avenue. Bezdicek was taken to Sanford Jackson Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.

Origer was transported to the Jackson County Jail. Online jail roster information shows he’s being held on a pending charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. There had been a high speed pursuit that started in Spirit Lake about a half hour before the crash. It went east on Highway 9 then north on Highway 71 to Jackson at speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.
