(Estherville)– Estherville police are reminding residents to make sure their house numbers are in place and that they’re clearly visible. Same thing goes for businesses.
Officers say they’ve noticed quite a few homes and businesses lately that don’t have address numbers affixed to the outside of their buildings. It’s actually a violation of city code, which dictates the numbers be atleast three inches in height so they can be easily seen from the street.
Violators will be sent a warning letter giving them 10 days to get the numbers installed. In the event they don’t, the city will do it for them and assess the cost against the owner’s property taxes.
Anyone with questions should contact the Estherville Police Department at 362-3515 or the Estherville City Offices at 362-7771.
