November 22, 2014

(Estherville)—A traffic stop Tuesday morning in Estherville resulted in the arrest of a Ruthven man on a drug charge.

Estherville police say an officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation around 8:30 a.m. on highway 4 south of Estherville. During the stop the officer saw the driver throw something out of the passenger window.

Upon making contact, the officer identified the driver as 54-year-old Roger Kruse of Ruthven. Upon investigating, the officer learned Kruse had a suspended driver’s license. A further investigation involving the department’s K-9, Max, resulted in authorities finding an eye glass case with drug paraphernalia in it.

Kruse was arrested and charged with driving while under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Emmet county jail.
