(Estherville)– The Estherville City Council Monday approved a motion expressing their intent to appoint whoever wins Tuesday’s Ward 4 City Council seat to also fill out the remainder of Ann Goebel’s term, which expires at the end of this year. That same person would then assume a full term beginning January 1st. Goebel resigned from her seat effective November 1st after moving to another area of the city. The person who is successfully elected will be sworn in to fill the interim of the term at the November 17th city council meeting, and will be sworn in to serve the full term the first of the year.
