(Sioux City)– An Emmetsburg man will serve five years behind bars on a federal drug charge. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 57-year-old David Specketer was sentenced Friday to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the Emmetsburg High School. He had previously been convicted of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine in 2013.
Evidence revealed that on April 15th, 2024, law enforcement attempted to arrest Specketer at his residence in Emmetsburg on an outstanding warrant from a 2022 case in Woodbury county for possession with intent to deliver meth. Specketer attempted to go back into his residence after making initial contact with law enforcement. When he was apprehended officers found about an ounce of methamphetamine. Specketer admitted he intended to distribute the drug.
