Emmet County Authorities Looking For Identity Of Snowmobile Operators

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance as it continues to investigate a complaint of snowmobiles being operated in a cemetery.

Sheriff Mike Martens says his office received a report November 13th of five to six snowmobiles that were being ridden through the East Side Memorial Cemetery north of Estherville.

Martens says whoever’s responsible faces charges of criminal mischief in the fifth degree and trespassing. Each charge carries a fine of $625 and/or 30 days in jail.

Martens reminds snowmobile operators and those driving other vehicles to be aware of the property rights of others and that operating their vehicles on the property of another and causing damage may result in criminal charges.
