Collision Results In Minor Injuries; Sends One Driver To Jail

November 22, 2014

(Ruthven)– A two-vehicle collision early Sunday in Ruthven resulted in minor injuries and sent one of the drivers to jail for drunk driving.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 2:20 a.m. to the 1500 block of Center Street in Ruthven. Authorities say Casey Pomeroy of Ruthven was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee which collided with the rear of a 2000 Chevrolet Impala driven by Nathan Meyer of Ruthven.

Upon investigating deputies determined Pomeroy’s blood alcohol level was allegedly above the legal limit. He was then arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated…first offense. He was booked into the Palo Alto county jail.

Both vehicles were totaled.

While minor injuries were reported, apparently neither driver sought immediate treatment.
