Collision Of A Car & Motorcycle Claims A Life

(Algona)– A collision Sunday at an intersection on Highway 18 near Algona claimed the life of a Pocahontas man.

The Iowa State Patrol says 42-year-old Adam Allen died when a car collided with the motorcycle he was driving. Troopers say a Nissan Sentra was southbound on a county road when the 17-year-old driver from Ackley, Iowa, failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with the motorcycle driven by Allen.

A 17-year-old passenger in the car was seriously injured and was life flighted to a Mason City hospital.

The collision took place around 1:00 pm. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Algona Fire and EMS, and the Algona Police Department assisted on the scene.
