Clay, Dickinson Counties Lift Burning Bans

(Spencer)– Clay and Dickinson counties have lifted bans on open burning.

Chris Yungbluth, Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Chief, tells KUOO news the four inches of snow that fell over the weekend has taken the edge off the danger. Even then, he says anyone planning on doing any open burning needs to use extreme caution…Click here to hear mp3 file

If you live in town, Yungbluth says you should check with your local city hall to make sure burning isn’t banned by city ordinance.

Clay county officials say a grass fire Friday burned about five acres of land in Clay county. It took three fire departments more than two hours to contain it.
