(Everly)– Minor injuries were reported Sunday in a single-vehicle rollover near Everly.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old James Martinez of Everly was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup eastbound on County Road B-24 when he drove onto the north shoulder. Deputies say Martinez then over-corrected and drove onto the south shoulder. The vehicle then traveled back onto the roadway and rolled onto its top, sliding down the road coming to rest on its top.
Martinez sustained minor injuries but wasn’t immediately transported to a hospital.
$5,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
Martinez was charged with operating while intoxicated…first offense; failure to maintain control, failure to have a valid driver’s license, failure to prove security against liability, failure to wear or maintain a safety belt, and operation without registration.
Martinez was booked into the Clay county jail.
