(Spirit Lake)– What’s seemed like an endless barrage of political advertising, emails and campaigning is about to come to an end…for now atleast…in Iowa. It culminates with this (Tuesday) evening’s caucuses. Both parties will hold caucuses, but of course the one garnering the most interest is Republicans.

Add another component to the mix, and things could get even more interesting. That’s the fact that registered Democrats and independents are allowed to participate in the Republican caucuses by temporarily changing their party affiliation…something that can be done while registering at the caucus site this (Tuesday) evening.
In addition to selecting a Presidential nominee, caucus goers will also vote on delegates to attend the state convention and will also bring up any resolutions they would like addressed. The caucus site for all Republicans in Dickinson county is the Spirit Lake Middle School Gym. All Democrats in the county will gather at the Dickinson County Expo Building in Spirit Lake. Registration for both will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the caucuses beginning at 7:00 p.m.
