(Milford) Ever wonder how milk gets from the cow to your table? Jones Dairy Farm in Milford is hosting a free Breakfast on the Farm event on Saturday June 21st. Jones Dairy Farm Manager, Aaron Titterington, talks about where the idea for Breakfast on the Farm originated.
“So that’s exactly what sparked the beginning of breakfast on the farm was just a lot of kids not having an opportunity to go to grandpa’s farm or whoever’s farm on a regular basis so we’re giving them a farm to come out to with grandma and grandpa to try to show that process a little bit like hey these cows are here so you have cheese on your pizza.”
Titterington says it’s fun to see the visitors put it all together on how everything works on the farm once they see it in person.
“We did find that out with a chicken and an egg one time that they wanted to know where the egg went and we’re like well the egg goes to the store and it was like oh like a light bulb so those are cool moments when you see them see it.”
Titterington talks about what you can expect at Breakfast on the Farm.
“Come and expect a light breakfast a burrito a doughnut some coffee. We’ll have milk and yogurt as well. And then see the cows getting milked. The cows milk every morning afternoon and evening on the parlor and also you can have the opportunity to milk a cow by hand. We’ll have that station going and then you can visit the free stall barn where the cows live.”
Breakfast on the Farm is free and will be from 7 to 10 am on Saturday June 21st. Jones Dairy Farm is located at 2680 250th Avenue in Milford. To find more information you can go to jonesfamilydairy.com
