(Spencer)– A check Monday night by authorities on a man wanted on a warrant resulted in the arrest of that man, along with another man accused of giving officers false information.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were assisting Spencer police in conducting an arrest warrant check on Josh Norgart of Spencer who was wanted for having his probation revoked. When authorities showed up at an apartment at 600 East 19th Street they were told by Jason Evans, who lives at an apartment in the same complex, that he hadn’t seen Norgart.
Upon leaving the residence, authorities made contact with Norgart, who was placed under arrest.
Upon further investigation, authorities determined Evans had allegedly lied to the deputy. He was then placed under arrest and was charged with interference with official acts and was booked into the Clay county jail on a $300 cash or surety bond.
Norgart was being held without bond pending transport to the Oakdale Correctional Facility.
