(Cherokee)– A Cherokee-based ag company has announced expansion plans in two northwest Iowa communities.
AgState announced Wednesday it plans to construct seed and chemical storage facilities in Emmetsburg and Fonda. A groundbreaking at both sites is scheduled for this summer with completion slated for late this calendar year.
Sara Meadows, Vice President of Agronomy for Ag State, says the new warehouses will allow the company to increase efficiency and capacity, especially during the peak agronomy seasons.
Meadows adds the projects represent a major investment in the two communities as well as the long-term strength of the cooperative.
AgState is a locally owned and governed cooperative with 400 full and part-time employees throughout northwest Iowa.
