Additional Details Released In Crash The Critically Injured A Nobles County Sheriff’s Deputy

(Worthington, Mn.)– We’re learning more details into a two vehicle collision Sunday on Interstate 90 near Rushmore. A Nobles County Sheriff’s Deputy was seriously injured in that crash.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 63-year-old Theresa Bear of Sioux Falls was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox and 30-year-old Arnold Waldner, a Nobles County Sheriff’s Deputy, was driving a 2023 Dodge Durango squad vehicle. Troopers say both were westbound when the collision occurred. Bear sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Luverne hospital. Waldner sustained life threatening injuries and is in critical condition.

Waldner has been with the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office two years. A fund has been established to assist the family at 1st State Bank Southwest in Worthington.
