A Couple Of Major Projects In The City Of Spirit Lake Are About To Get Underway

May 30, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– A major project will be getting underway next week in Spirit Lake. City officials say work on the Hill Avenue Boulevards will begin Monday, June 2nd at 15th Street and Hill Avenue and will progress north about two blocks at a time. Those living along Hill Avenue in that area will still have access to driveways, with workers helping to coordinate access in and out as needed. Otherwise, motorists will need to detour around the areas while they are under construction. Spirit Lake city officials say work on the north end of Hill Avenue is expected to take about three weeks, depending upon the weather. They add that information will be provided once work is ready to begin on the south end of Hill Avenue.

The other major project, the reconstruction of 23rd Street between Hill Avenue and Chicago Avenue, is scheduled to start June 16th. The city says homeowners in that area will be getting letters soon with additional information. City officials say it’s anticipated that 23rd Street between Hill Avenue and Erie Avenue will be closed beginning June 16th continuing through mid-August. Parking for those attending events at the little league fields and Aspen Seeman Memorial Park will be available through the main entrances at the Spirit Lake High School and by utilizing parking areas to the south of the park and the new concession stand and restrooms.
