(Spencer)– Ten young ladies will compete for the title of Clay County Fair Queen Sunday, June 8th at the Clay County Regional Events Center.
Contestants include Nevaeh Brauhn of Sioux Rapids, the daughter of Steve and Rish Brauhn; Jasmyn Christensen of Spencer, the daughter of Clayton Christensen; Abbey Crew of Spencer, the daughter of Peter
and Andrea Crew; Lilly Jepsen of Spencer, the daughter of Jacque Jepsen-Bakke and Chris Bakke; Dakoda Lux of Everly, the daughter of David and Kori Lux; Ava McCarty of Peterson, the daughter of Chad & Kaarn
McCarty; Maggie Moser of Spencer, the daughter of Jason and Melissa Moser; Sarah Phillips of Linn Grove, the daughter of Ryan and Laurie Phillips; Hannah Tessum of Everly, the daughter of Tyler and Ashley Tessum; Emmalee Thompson of Linn Grove, the daughter of Peter and Rachel Thompson.
The candidates will participate in individual interviews, workshops, and the Queen Pageant. The Queen Pageant will start at 7:00 p.m. It will include contestant introductions, the self-expression portion, and the
crowning of the 2025 Clay County Fair Queen. Doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m.
The Queen will represent the Fair at area parades and celebrations throughout the summer, compete in the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest, and participate in the 2025 Clay County Fair in September. Candidates will be judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to their community, overall appearance, charm, poise, and self-expression.
Each contestant will receive a tote bag from Tailored Graphics, a tumbler from Creative Stitches, a cosmetic gift set from Avon, a movie basket from Southpark Mall, a personal styling session at Elegance Bridal & Prom
Boutique, and a single-stem rose from Hy-Vee.
The 2025 Clay County Fair Queen will also receive many prizes, including $1,500 from Community State Bank; a Petal Perfection Watch & Gift Set from Avon; personal care sessions from Design Masters; a pearl bracelet
from Nelson Jewelry; $200 from Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative; an official Fair Queen photo from F8 Creative; a $150 gift certificate from Elegance Bridal and Prom Boutique; a $150 certificate from Grand Bridal in Spencer; a tanning package from Royal Tan; $100 for transportation from H&N Chevrolet-Buick; a one-year membership to the Spencer Family YMCA; $50 gift card from Clay County Farm Bureau; a teeth whitening tray
from VanHofwegen & Munter Family Dentistry; a one-hour session of interview coaching from Treva Graves; and a dozen roses from Hy-Vee.
The First Runner-up also receives prizes, including $1,000 from Community State Bank, a Petal Perfection Watch & Gift Set from Avon, a tanning package from Royal Tan, and a half-dozen roses from Hy-Vee.
